Singapore hosting the first ever Grand Prix Formula One Night race. Fernando Alonso from Spain ,Rosenberg from Germany and Lewis Hamilton from United Kingdom are the grand winners - Fernando coming in first and followed by Rosenberg and Hamilton.

The difference between all the other past formula one races to this is one is this - this one is happening in the night. It is estimated to finish within 2 hours. I watched the event from the comfort of my home and the entire race took at least an hour and a half. The national anthem of Spain was orchestrated at the closing of the event and our most revered happy Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong was present standing amidst the winners. He also presented the trophy to the three winners. The night race was a huge success for Singapore and the stakeholders of the entire event. The racers took a 61 lap about 5,067 kilometers of road circuit to cover with the highest speed of 308 kilometer per hour attained by the winner Mr Fernando. The winners will be all part of a memorable history of car race.

What Singapore did by hosting the formula one is a fantastic approach to capitalise its strength rather than show its weakness. If it cannot be number one or two in sports it is capable enough to host world reknown sports activity. Despite its disadvantage in land space Singapore can create a facility for such roadshows in a shortest possible time. It has the technology and hard working people.

Decoupling Theory

Decoupling in economics refers to the lessening of dependency between variables. In world economy, decoupling is popularly known to be whether the economies concerned, especially the Asian economies, can shrug off a recession in the United States of America. Is this theory a wishful thought or an economic reality is yet proven and debateable.

In 2001 the financial crisis hit hard most Asian economies as the firms therein were in too much in debt and vulnerable to US market. Bank collapsed, asset prices plunged, currencies came under attack and their value fell. Output was severely affected.

One point to note is the sensitivity of government intervention during the Asian financial crisis made matters worst. The anxiety to defend the currencies concerned depleted the respective foreign reserve. This could have been the origin of the whole crisis. Despite the turbulence in the currency markets which ended by the end of 1997, the solution was extremely painful for the economies involved. Many financial institutions and industrial/commercial firms went bankrupt and output fell sharply.

The lesson learnt during the Asian crisis will be ever a basic lesson of economics to pundits all over Asia and the rest of the world to effect a change in the mindset of world traders.

The downturn of the US stock market sharp liners months ago made the non-believers of the decoupling theory to downgrade it as mere ‘fantasy’ when the world stocks reacted adversely. The Asian Index was down 25 percent!

The very recent historic 700 billion giant bail out by the US government on their financial sector can mean two things: US is kind enough to resolve the “bad debts” problem (which had followed through from an escalating 14-month old credit crunch stemming from a meltdown in US home prices after a violent real estate boom fuelled by easy credit) in the midst of a election or it is doing something good to the rest of the world economies by making its financial world stable. The global market stocks soared after this incident. Once again US has proved that it still has an upper hand over the world’s market.

Generally, if an economy is export oriented with a majority of exports to the United States then it is coupled with the American economy. It is like a small boat caught in a sea storm – choppy. Some Asian economies are more vulnerable to others as their exports to America are over 20 percent of their Gross Domestic Product. Newer markets need to sought after in the Middle East or bond deeper affiliations with the European Market.

In 1998 Petronas was erected in Malaysia as the world's tallest building. After 6 years Taipei 101 was built as the new tallest building. It is 508 m tall and has 101 storeys. When Burj Dubai is completed it is going to be the tallest builidng almost two times the height of Petronas.

Showmanship is an important tool in any business. It is like the beauty in a woman. Attraction is a significant element in any relationship. It is the first impression. But whether it last or not depends on the content or character of the business or the person involved. Showmanship and content are the two pedals in a boat- both has to have a momentum to bring the boat to a specified destination. Beauty might fade but character remains forever.

In starting a business entreprenuers are more concern with profit maximization. They take for granted that profit is the result of any business. He has to take into consideration the cost for showmanship. What kind of car he will use to meet clients? What kind of attires he must wear when he stays in the office? What kind of impression he has to give to his workers? How he will talk to his staff? If the entreprenuer lacks in all these elements of business he has to cost in these wanting factors. He has to buy a good car, wear good clothes, he has to take up personal grooming course. All these expenditure i think has to be fixed cost in any business in this modern world.

Guess what I have found today. I found this site where you can check your website page rank. It is quite simple. Just click to PR checker and type your website address and get the code. Thereafter you can paste the code in your blog. That simple!

When I started this blog a year ago I did not think that my blog would have reached this far as most of the time when you write something on your blog it is something that others had already written- knowledge that is copied.

So what is the ‘code’ for a successful blog? First of all we have to define success. Each individual has different definition of success. Obviously if you read in the universe of the internet, you will have read that a successful blogger must define how much he wants to make from a blog. What is your goal? Is it a mere 3000 dollars per year or 3000 dollars a month? Take a time to read my post on goal setting and how to set a goal.

We can initiate a goal in blogging. Once you have planned you must the discipline to reach it. Otherwise all goals become weak prayers. You can do a CTC cycle.

In order to generate money for your blog you need readers to click into your blog. But one important lesson I learnt in blogging is that you will need to learn to reverse your priority conditioning. It is our nature that we have to communicate to our counterpart. In the movie Cast Away, Tom Hanks who got stranded in a remote uninhabited island had to make a ball (brand name Wilson) to be his illusory friend.

Human being like animal has to communicate. If there is no communication life becomes boring and dead. A neighbour can be a good communicator and friend. A gossip can be at times healthful and bonds people. Communication goes far beyond than strengthening ties. In ancient warfare communication builds a strong fortress of togetherness of impending invasion by enemies. A homing pigeon is used in spreading vital information to the other part of the troops in a war. A messenger of the past.

Today communication had developed from a mere mail to electronic mail. Electronic mail or Email is had made paper communication obsolete and not needed. Spending your time retrieving emails is an unconstructive pastime. Spam and ‘virus’ encoded emails are trouble to modern day living. Guess what.

Condition Your Kids Behaviour

Have you ever wondered how come some people are peak performers in their own fields of profession as others? You may come across professionals complaining of not making their mark in their own fields as others. They complaint but do nothing to condition their behaviour to reach the top.

I always admire people who are doing things that I am not being able to do right now. I can remember my child hood days with some thought. Once I was playing a game of football. There was this big guy who tackled me from behind which I thought was a bad play. I tripped and fell. I was very annoyed that I was being fouled. There was no referee around. I stood up in with a spirit to a brawl. This big guy took this as a challenge and the next thing I knew I was on the ground again and this big guy was on top of me smothering me. I simply could not overcome him as he was really big. I was really at his mercy and it was an embarrassing moment in my life – I thought.

The next thing he was crying and moving his body as though he was in great pain. At that moment I found my way through to get over him. I realised that my younger brother took a sleeper and whack his back vigorously like a stinging bee to put me in a safer position. Now I am above him and the big guy was in deep trouble. I gave him a punch on this right side of his head after much persuasion from my brave younger brother.

Now I came to realise that as I confront others I will end up in trouble as the incident has registered negatively in my brain. I am not saying you have to become a warrior and fight everyone to become successful. I don believe in competition. I believe in achievement. What I am saying if you want to become successful in whatever you want to become you have to change your behaviour.

I also wonder gamblers. I don’t play any game of chances. I fear of losing. I know people who are consistent gamblers. I was amazed why these people gamble their monies away. I know a person some time back who says he always win when he gambles. He said he never lose not even once. I asked him how he did that. He says just think of winning the next round.

So if you want to change some part of your life- be it your finances, wealth building, your relationship with people – you have to change your behaviour to put you in the right track to achieve all those you desire.

I got telephone call from my son’s school principal. He told me my son had entangled himself in a fight with a school boy. Upon enquiry from the principal I understand that my son was in an exercise hall at that time. As he was exercising, his counterpart came towards him and wants to monopolise his work area. My son told him politely that there was not enough space for him. His counterpart just pushed him and secured the place. The next moment my son gave him a punch. The bully fell to the ground!

I was really happy that my son got a great conditioning when he put up a challenge. I was really happy for him. He has been conditioned positively for a start.

Winner Takes It All

Winner takes it all? Not necessarily. Everyone can become ‘successful’ in their own way.

The movie ‘Predator’ is a story about an alien creature entering to earth from outer space in a far away jungle where the war veterans who were on a mission. The creature known as the ‘predator’ hunts the hunted. It was admissibly a scary movie as the predator is well advanced in technology. It is extraordinarily ugly and huge (I think it is double the size of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger-). My point is this.

In every movie like the above I realised the emotion of viewers are being tickled when the ‘alien’ comes to limelight by being extraordinarily powerful. As humans we have the sense of comparison. We have been taught early on how to compare things. We subconsciously expect everyone to be like us. If it is different we are trap in uncertainty. That is why God said in The Bible that we are made in His own Image. If is said otherwise then our affiliations with the Almighty will be a tedious affair.

If we see someone driving a BMW or Lexus we find we are out of the ‘winners’ game. If we find someone taller than us, we feel inferior to them and shun them with subtlety. If we find someone flashy and well known to earn a better income than us we feel guilty to our family. Most of the time, it is not us but is our counterpart who is communicating to us of the ‘success’ of others.

Everyone is successful in his own way if everyone stops comparing success. We can copy the steps but cannot compare the outcome. Can everyone earn like Mr William Bill Gates or Mr Mukhesh Ambani? Unlikely as the worlds resources are limited at a certain point of time. Demand and supply is not always the same. There is one Leonardo Ad Vinci and one Alexander The Great. Be creative and do things differently. And act on what you create. You will be successful in your own way.

I have the opportunity to watch Vince Fazio on the skills of painting recently. Success is like painting. At every stroke of the brush is a success story. When the painter decides to stop and says he has finished the painting, that is success. Success is the function of Creativity and Action. The outcome is your choice. But remember at every cessation you are successful in your own way.

Mukhesh Ambani is the richest man of the world as his fortune is now worth US 63.2 billion dollars as reported by the Indian news media recently. But this claim was refuted by Reliance Industries in which Mukhesh Ambani is its chairman. Nevertheless, if he combines his wealth with his brother Anil, they are the world’s richest. William Bill III is worth US 56 billion who is the chairman of the Microsoft organisation.

In the pursuit of happiness, being loaded with wealth, assets and cash are the paramount factor to it. The definition of wealth varies from place and time. The contended comfort themselves by saying happiness is when you have three basic things in life: 3 meals a day, a house and clothing. The competitor leaves nothing to chance and make sure those basic needs are met with assurance for the rest of his life.

The population of India is now over a billion marks . Can Mukhesh afford to give a million dollars to every citizen of India? He must have a million dollars a billion times. Or for that matter can the world’s richest man make every one a millionaire just by giving one million dollars to every human being? He or she had to fork out a million dollars 6 billion times.
